JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa occupies the private island of Vagaru in the secluded Shaviyani Atoll, one of the least-developed atolls in the Maldives. Opened in October 2019 as the JW Marriott brand’s debut in the country, the resort offers 60 private pool villas across four categories, each with a dedicated Thakuru (personal butler).
